广州大剧院，曾名广州歌剧院，坐落于广州CBD中央，广州七大标志性建筑之一。继北京国家大剧院、上海大剧院之后的全国第三大歌剧院。由第一位获得“普利兹克建筑奖”的女性、英籍伊拉克女建筑师扎哈·哈迪德设计，外形宛如两块被珠江水冲刷过的灵石，而被称为“双砾”。“大石头”是歌剧院主体大剧场，“小石头”是多功能剧场，两者面积比是5∶1。《今日美国》评为“世界十大歌剧院”。

工程由来自英国的女性建筑大师扎哈·哈迪德设计，其外形独特，犹如一山丘上置放两块大小不同的石头，而被称为“双砾”。剧院由大剧场和多功能剧场两个单体组成，总投资13.8亿元人民币。总占地面积42393平方米，总建筑面积71197平方米，其中大剧场36400平方米，多功能剧场7400平方米，其它辅助设施26100平方米。
